Ashbourne is an 18 bedroom care home for people over the age of 65 set in a quiet residential area in the heart of Kettering town. The home is a well presented two storey property boasting beautiful gardens at the rear. Ashbourne is registered with Care Quality Commission.

Aim
At Ashbourne the rights of our service users are at the forefront of our philosophy of promoting independence and individuality in a supportive, caring environment. We seek to enhance these rights in all aspects of the services we provide. The primary objective of the home is to deliver a high quality service working in partnership with other professionals, whilst providing a safe, comfortable atmosphere where individuals can feel at home.

Services
Ashbourne aims to provide high quality and personal care for service users. Some of our prospective service users may be dependant on our staff for support and assistance with their daily routine e.g. personal grooming, meals and exercise. The provision of a supportive environment for service users who are 65 years or above and can not manage independently in their own homes. Ashbourne also welcomes married couples.

We can provide:
• Excellent individual care delivered by qualified, competent staff.
• Home cooked food with specialist diets catered for.
• Assistance with medication in liaison with the service users' GP.
• Regular reviews and visits with other health professionals.
• Support and assistance with mobilising.
• A 24-hour call bell system in operation.
• Activities, entertainment and outings.
• A regular hairdresser and chiropodist service.
• An "open door" policy that welcomes visitors at any time.
• Short and long term respite care.

Facilities
The facilities provided consist of a day room and a dining room, there is also a second day room at the rear with beautiful views to the garden. There are 16 large single bedrooms all with en-suite facilities and 2 double bedrooms. On both floors are fully equipped bathrooms with hoist’s and for the convenience. The home has two fully equipped communal bathrooms. For service user’s there is the convenience of lift. There is a garden with garden furniture for service users to use if they so wish at the rear of the building

Ground Floor -7 en-suite bedrooms for service users with limited mobility i.e. wheelchair users who may also require help and assistance with transfers.

First floor - 9 en-suite bedrooms for service users who are able to comprehend floor layout, have the ability to understand and cooperate with directions and assistance from care staff and have the ability to participate with daily living skills.

Activities
Ashbourne is able to provide a variety of ways that service users can be encouraged to enjoy social activities, hobbies and leisure interests. We try to help service users to continue to enjoy as wide a range of individual and group activities and interests as possible both inside and outside the home, to carry on with existing hobbies, pursuits and relationships, and to explore new avenues and experiences.

Relatives, Friends and Representatives
At Ashbourne the service users are given support and encouragement to maintain links they wish to retain with their families and friends outside the home.

• They can choose whom they see, when and where.
• Their friends and family are welcome to visit at any time convenient to the service user.
• If a service user wishes to be represented in any activity within the home by a nominated friend, relative, professional person or advocate, we will respect their wishes and offer the necessary facilities.

Staffing
Ashbourne has professional staff on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• All our staff complete a full training induction. They also receive
ongoing training, as part of their personal development and as a legal requirement, to protect the service users' safety and welfare.
• Most of the staff are N.V.Q qualified or are enrolled to study for
this award.
• The management approach aims to create an open, positive and inclusive atmosphere whilst protecting the rights, privacy, dignity and independence of the service users.
