Bassingham Care center is situated in the idyllic village of Bassingham, 10.5 miles from Lincoln and 11 miles from Newark. The village is a thriving and expanding community, with local transport, shops, public houses and community facilities. Bassingham Care Center prides itself as an integral part of the local community and has regular involvement with the local services and local people.

At Bassingham Care Center the rights of our service users are at the forefront of our philosophy of promoting independence and individuality in a supportive, caring environment. We seek to enhance these rights in all aspects of the services we provide.
The primary objective of the home is to deliver a high quality service working in partnership with other professionals, whilst providing a safe, comfortable atmosphere where individuals can feel at home.
Services
Bassingham Care Center offers services to those people aged 50 years or above. Specialist nursing care is provided, dementia care and residential support. Services are available to support people with physical disabilities or mobility issues. Long term, short term and respite care is available to meet individual requirements.
Bassingham Care Center provides full specialist nursing care to those individuals assessed with nursing requirements. District nurses and other community specialist providers also visit the home on a regular basis for residential service users. Excellent links have been forged with the local doctors’ surgery and pharmacy within the village. Arrangements are in place to meet dentistry, ophthalmic and podiatrist needs.
Bassingham is registered to accommodate 61 service users and is registered with Care Quality Commission.
Facilities
Bassingham Care Center offers a range of quality accommodation options. The Old Rectory building offers nursing and residential care and support to people over 50 years of age, including people diagnosed with dementia. The accommodation comprises of recently refurbished bedrooms, activity area, lounges, dining suites, conservatory and specialist bathing facilities. The house is located in beautiful landscaped gardens. Single and double accommodation is available.

Activities
The home provides a variety of ways that service users can be encouraged to enjoy social activities, hobbies and leisure interests and access the community. Service users are consulted individually in relation to their interests and wishes regarding social activities as part of their individual care plan process and at regular service meetings. Specialist activities are provided to those people with dementia needs to enable them to engage and participate. Bassingham Care Center employs an activity coordinator to support people with their chosen leisure pursuits.
A hairdresser, podiatrist and other therapists visit the service on a regular basis for the convenience of service users.
Each service user will be encouraged to participate in their individual care plan, enabling aspirations and giving maximum opportunities for developing independence and choice.
Relatives, Friends and Representatives
At Bassingham Care Center the service users are given support and encouragement to maintain links they wish to retain with their families and friends outside the home.
• They can choose whom they see, when and where.
• Their friends and family are welcome to visit at any time convenient to the service user.
• If a service user wishes to be represented in any dealings with the home by a nominated friend, relative, professional person or advocate, we will respect their wishes and offer the necessary facilities.
Staffing
The home is fully staffed 24 hours a day; there is always a qualified registered nurse on duty. The manager of the service is an experienced nurse manager. The staffing ratio reflects the needs of people living at the service to enable individual care and support to be provided. All staff are competent and fully trained. All staff complete a thorough induction training program in line with the ‘Common Induction Standards’. All staff complete NVQ qualifications. Additional training is provided to meet individual service user’s specialist needs. To compliment the care staff team; chefs, kitchen assistants, domestic staff, an administrator and maintenance staff are also employed in Bassingham Care Center.
Regular quality assurance checks take place to ensure an excellent standard of care and support is being provided.
