We have seen an increasing need for independent living in Northamptonshire. In February 2006 we piloted our first independent flat scheme offering individuals accommodation with no support or minimal support through the floating support scheme.
The aim of the supported living is to give a better quality of life to vulnerable people enabling them to live independently and to maintain their place of residence.
Accommodation:
Self contained apartments : A modern furnished ground floor apartment within walking distance from the town center and shopping district of Northampton. The accommodation comprises hall, lounge open plan into fitted kitchen with integrated appliances double bedroom, one single bedroom, bathroom with shower bath and allocated parking.
Independent Homes : Modern two and three bedroom properties based in Rushden, all properties are within walking distance of the town center and other local amenities.
Cambridge Court is a two bed roomed flat in a quiet newly built residential area of Northampton close to the town center. The flat is close to all local amenities including transport, doctors, shopping and leisure facilities and the Msaada Head Office.
Cowper Street offers five newly converted 2 bed roomed flats and one bedsit, which were completed in January 2008. The flats are close to all local amenities including transport, doctors, shopping and leisure facilities and the Msaada Head Office.
Lion Court is a two bed roomed flat in a quiet newly built residential area of Northampton close to the town center. The flats are close to all local amenities including transport, doctors, shopping and leisure facilities and the Msaada Head Office.
Norman Road is a four bed roomed house in a quiet residential street in Northampton. The house is close to all local amenities including transport, doctors, shopping and leisure facilities and the Msaada Head Office.
Msaada’s ‘Commission for Quality Care’ registered domiciliary care agency is able to provide additional personal care or support if agreed funding is secured and this would be based upon individual need and assessment. Support available includes enabling people to learn daily living skills, money management, help with personal care and our aim is always to encourage further independence. Funding can be arranged via care management, or through an individual budget, privately funded or by using the Direct Payments scheme.
Msaada can offer tenancy agreements to individuals with learning difficulties and or mental health issues. Cowper Street is able to accept referrals from both males and females.
Additional support is provided by staff based at the Msaada Head Office in Northampton. Our finance and benefit advisors support people with applying for correct the levels of benefits, support people with their money management and complete an individual financial assessment and support plan. The Msaada office is open from 8.30- 5.30 Monday to Friday. In addition to this an out of hours on call system operates for emergency use.
