The Limes opened in 1999 to provide accommodation, care and support to vulnerable individuals from the age of eighteen and upwards who have an acquired or traumatic brain injury or people who experience enduring mental ill health and express challenging behavior.
The Limes is a large Victorian detached house set in visually stunning surroundings. Lush and mature gardens surround the property on three sides providing privacy in a relaxing atmosphere. The home is situated in a quiet residential area of Northampton and within easy walking distance of shops and local amenities. The Limes can provide either a home for life or a route to independent living.
Aim
The primary objective of the home is to provide a high quality service to our service users working in partnership with other professional’s, organisations and families to provide a comfortable safe and secure environment where individuals can realise their true potential with care and support from staff.
Service
For adults aged 18 and upwards who have an acquired or traumatic brain injury and people with enduring mental ill health and challenging behavior. The Limes also has one bedroom on the ground floor to accommodate physical disability.
All service users are encouraged to use health care provisions outside the home. NHS facilities in the local community are accessed i.e. dentist, optician chiropodist/podiatrist therapists doctors consultants community nurses and specialist nurses. Support is given to attend all appointments and to organise transport.
Facilities
The Limes has six double bedrooms and is registered to accommodate eight residents. One room offers en-suite facilities, all other rooms have washing facilities. The rooms are fully furnished but residents can bring their own furniture if they so wish. There is a communal bathroom with jacuzzi bath and separate shower. On the ground floor a wet room services the ground floor bedroom. The Limes has two lounges one being a quiet room or meeting room and a large kitchen/diner.

Activities
The Limes is able to provide a variety of ways that service users can be encouraged to enjoy social activities, hobbies and leisure interests. Service users are consulted individually in relation to their interests and wishes regarding social activities as part of the service user’s care planning process and at regular service meetings.
Staffing
The home is fully staffed 24 hours a day, the number of staff on shift is dependent on the number of residents. The home has high ratio staffing levels which enables service users to have one to one support sessions with members of staff. All staff complete a full induction and training and development programme.
